Kati Roll
Kati roll or Kathi roll originated from Kolkata,west Bengal. Its original form was roasted kebab wrap in paratha bread. Paratha is a layered bread. The paratha dough kneaded into a rope and then coiled in to a round patty and the flattened as bread. Then partially fried in oil on a tawa or pan. Then put a egg on tawa and keep the paratha on the egg. Then add Chicken/Beef/Mutton or Paneer on the paratha (egg side) with onion, chili, sauces. but before being laid in thin strip on paratha kebab meet tossed with onions, chilies and sauces on the tawa/pan. After laid on paratha, then add some julienned carrot, lemon juice and sometimes add some chaat masala too. Then rolled the paratha. It will serve with green chutney (Coriander, Mint and lime chutney)
Now Kathi Roll coming with many variants. Common variants on the filling are egg, potato, paneer, mixed vegetables and curried chicken or mutton. Now Kati Roll not only famous in India. but also famous in many countries including Canada and USA.
